Hakhnassath Sefer Torah at the Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue, Mumbai (Bombay), India
Mr. Solomon Sopher, Chairman and Managing Trustee of the Sir Jacob Sassoon Charity Trusts, in India, dedicated a Sefer Torah in memory of his cousin, Saul Kelly, ‘a”h, who passed away in London.
Rabbi Ya’aqob Menashe of Midrash BEN ISH HAI, flew in from New York, specially for the occasion. The dedication ceremony was graced by the presence of H.E., the Consul General of Israel to Mumbai, David Akov, as well as the heads of many other Synagogues and organisations.
The joy, dancing and happiness of the large crowd of many varied backgrounds, at the occasion of the dedication of the Sefer Torah, can be witnessed in the video and photographs below.
